Inspect regularly for damage

King’s Safety Footwear are designed and made to withstand the toughest work conditions. However, regular inspection on safety footwear is necessary to ensure that the safety footwear is in the perfect condition to serve its purpose.

Rinse with water after exposure to chemicals or cements
Regular cleaning and conditioning protects safety footwear from harsh weather and worksite conditions. For example, cements tend to dry up leather to cause cracks in the leather upper. A rinse at the end of the workday will enhance the durability of the footwear.

Always air and dry footwear after each day use
Remove the insoles. Remove laces or open fully. Place in a dry area. If water went over the top of your footwear or if they contain excess moisture inside, pat dry with paper towels or other absorbent material, then leave it inside the boot or shoe for 30 minutes. Remove and air dry as described above. Store footwear in a cool, dry place.
Anti static properties is greatly reduced by wet conditions and with wear.

Rotate shoes for drying and airing

Eyewear Storage And Care

Service life depends on the care supplied and conditions of use. Under normal circumstances the eye protector should provide adequate protection for up to 6 months.

To store spectacles in a dry place at room temperature away from direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture.

Never clean lenses when dry. Rinse with water at room temperature (20ºC + 5ºC) with mild detergent. Do not use hot water or dissolvent. Dry with a soft cloth. Never use abrasive cloth and do not dry close to heat source. Scratched lens should be disposed of.

Wearers with extremely sensitive skin may experience allergic reactions upon contact with the material of the spectacles. In the event of any such problem occurring, stop wearing the eyewear immediately and seek professional advice.

Care of Helmet

Storage Condition
To store helmet in a dry place at room temperature away from direct sunlight. When not in use or during transportation, the helmet should be stored such that it is out of direct sunlight, away from chemical, abrasive substance and cannot be damage by physical contact with hard surfaces.

Assuming that the shell is stored in above suggested conditions and visually checked occasionally, there should be no problem with shelf life. However, after 3 years of storage, it is strongly recommended the batch be tested before issuing for use.

Maintenance
It is recommended that safety helmets should be cleaned regularly. Clean the helmet and suspension with mild detergent and lukewarm water. Removal of harness from the helmet facilitates washing. The use of paints, solvents, chemical, adhesives, hot water, or harsh abrasives are not advisable. Have the sweat band cleaned regularly or replaced. All components of the helmet shall be visually inspected at least weekly for signs of damage, rough treatment or unauthorized alterations and withdrawn from service immediately.

Dateline of Obsolescence
Excessive discolouration of shell or weathering of the surface indicates a loss of strength. Under normal circumstances the helmet should provide adequate protection for up to 1 year from day of wear.
